Ease of sensitive and personal data access in the increasingly mobile world mean that most people in the wireless or telecommunications industries must understand how security applies to their technologies. New government and industry regulations also make security awareness mandatory in many roles across these industries. The purpose of this course is to provide students with a detailed understanding of security in wireless networks. In addition to understanding the specifics of the various wireless security standards, this course also explains how these standards work with other services and standards in real-world implementations to create a complete security infrastructure. This is a 8 hr. instructor led technical course intended to give the student a thorough understanding of both the theoretical and practical aspects of wireless security.
This course examines WiFi 802.11 Networking and Market Opportunities. This class is ideal for anyone looking for an introduction to WLANs and how Wi-Fi supports voice, video and data applications in both the enterprise and service provider environments. This course is a 1-day course on 802.11, as part of the Wireless course offerings at CellStream. It will provide the attendee insight into some basic operation and terminology of the 802.11 Wireless Networking technologies. It will discuss the need for Quality of Service over wireless and the 802.11e specification, with a focus on delivering voice and video over wireless in real world enterprise and service provider environments.
This course provides an in-depth discussion on the WiFi 802.11n and 802.11ac specifications. This class is ideal for anyone looking for an in-depth understanding of WLANs and how they are evolving to support higher data rates and higher capacity enterprise solutions. The purpose of this course is to provide students with a detailed understanding of the IEEE 802.11n High Throughput standard. In addition to explaining the specifics of the 802.11n standard, this course also explains the underlying radio techniques that are deployed to attain the high data rates and the new deployment challenges that these radio techniques introduce, including coexistence and interference with existing infrastructures. Key features of emerging standard 802.11ac very high throughput will be discussed, and how this new technology will coexist with 802.11n.

A picture answer: It starts at the bottom:
- First, you register and enroll and will take a Pre-Class assessment (see Section 1 of the class). This assessment is expected to be poor in results, so do not worry about getting things wrong! Consider it a baseline of you knowledge prior to the class.
- Next, you will, at your own speed, complete the pre-class reading and study. Keep in mind you may only have a couple of days to complete this task. Nonetheless, it should be easy to complete in a few hours of time. This is done asynchronously, at you own speed. If you have questions, you can post them on the course forum and the instructor will post answers. Be sure to review the forum contents for important additional source of material.
- Next you will attend - synchronously with the other students and your instructor - the Web Based delivery of the hands on and lab exercise portion of the course.
- When that is complete, you will do two more things:
- You will complete the post-class assessment to measure what you have learned and the skills you have acquired
- You will submit a course evaluation. Keep in mind that evaluation links are sometimes mailed in email as well. Please complete any and all evaluations!
That's it! |

As our circle of knowledge expands, so does the circumference of darkness surrounding it.
Education is what remains after one has forgotten everything he learned in school.
Everything that is really great and inspiring is created by the individual who can labor in freedom.
