On a recent trip to Bismarck, North Dakota, one of our friends and colleagues at Telephone AT&S shared a wonderfull peice of history with me.  The Edinburg and Gardar Telephone Company Telephone Directory.  The year is not shown, but it must be from around turn of the century (early 1900's).

It has some fascinating Rules and Regulations on page 4, as well as the ringing instructions such as "1S 2L" or 1 short, 2 long cranks!!
