If you paid attention in science class, you probably remember something about our solar system being part of the Milky Way Galaxy. 

Most of you know I highly question the pictures of the Milky Way, but you can read more about that here.

Kids today are going to learn about where the Milky Way fits into the overall universe now that researchers at Harvard University have actually mapped the Universe - better yet in 3D!!

That's right. Called the 2MASS Redshift Survey (2MRS), the project aims to map the distribution of galaxies and dark matter in the local universe, out to a mean redshift of z = 0.02 (or roughly 85 Mpc or 380 million light years).
