Course Description:

The demand for high speed wireless connectivity is growing, with some analysts predicting that there will be over 5 billion mobile phone users by 2019. LTE and LTE Advanced are delivering broadband data rates and an always-on user experience around the world.

The 4G 201 Advanced course will provide a detailed description of how HSPA+ and LTE achieve higher over-the-air data rates. It will also discuss key operational procedures, including how a device connects to the LTE network and sets up bearers to send data with different QoS needs. This course will also discuss in detail how voice is supported on an LTE network, referred to as (VoLTE).

The attendee will be provided access to ongoing Q&A and discussion for the subject. We will deliver this on site or via web meeting tools in two 4-hour sessions. This briefing is designed to meet the needs of anyone that requires insight into these 4G emerging technologies from managers to designers.

Course Objectives:

At the end of this course the student should be able to:

  • Further develop our knowledge and skills-base on the subject of 4G wireless technologies
  • Discover why HSPA+ will continue to be important
  • Illuminate and explore the LTE downlink and uplink protocols
  • Reveal some of details of how LTE operates that are important to use with real time applications
  • Understand how Voice over LTE (VoLTE) is implemented
  • Gain technical expertise on 4G and how it is important to our network future and how I can better manage that importance in my job function
