Assignment was an expatriate based in the United Kingdom. Product is point to multipoint CDMA/spread spectrum technology based telephony bypass utilizing latest custom ASIC, processor and DSP technologies and OO software design. Successfully gained British Telecom acceptance of product leading to orders in excess of $90M. Instituted new methodologies for project/program performance tracking based on cycle time performance demonstrating time and cost to complete metrics. Produced a product future vision concept and program plan including a number of patents in this area of technology.

Major Customers:  British Telecom, over 15 other trials and initial network roll out programs in countries such as China, South Africa, Jamaica and South America.

Accomplishments:  Defined a key second generation version of the Airspan product which focused efforts on cost reduced and minituarized end-user terminals, concentration of air channels, and interworking with V5.1/5.2 concentrated switch interfaces as well as a new “Demand Assignment” air interface. Submitted three Wireless Local Loop/CDMA related patent applications during the program

Primary Responsibilities:  Promoted to Director to be primary program manager in a rapid development project to produce an international Access Division Digital Loop Carrier product: Litespan 120. Primary contributor in developing product definition, product launch, rollout plans, P&L forecasting, project and business plans. The product was a 120 line primary MUX/ODLC product with electrical and optical network interfaces using V5.1 concentration techniques.

Major Customers:  Metromedia International Telcel, with roll out in China and trials in South Africa, Mexico and South America.

Accomplishments:  Resulted in initial sales in excess of $4.5M. Record of program delivery on-schedule, under budget. Rewarded for additionally creating a version of the product called IMTN-S concurrently with the international program (a very small integrated digital cross connect system). Received several performance and incentive awards based on short cycle time performance and “company within a company” and “out of box” process creation.

Created complete set of manuals and procedures delivered to each trainee; this was above and beyond the scope of my project. Project was then turned into a Train-the-Trainer program and handed off to the training department.
