OSPFv2 Cheat Sheet
Wow - so many errored cheat sheets out there!!
This OSPF Cheat Sheet is designed as a quick-reference guide for network engineers, technicians, students, and anyone learning or troubleshooting Open Shortest Path First. It brings the most commonly needed OSPF information onto a single page, including packet types, neighbor states, important LSA types, DR/BDR election rules, default timers, Router ID selection, adjacency requirements, useful Cisco IOS commands, and route codes. It also includes practical troubleshooting notes for common problems such as neighbors that never form or adjacencies that become stuck in ExStart or Exchange.
Rather than digging through documentation every time you need to remember an OSPF detail, this sheet is meant to stay close at hand during labs, certification study, classroom exercises, or real-world troubleshooting. It is especially useful when you need to quickly connect a symptom to the part of OSPF that may be responsible. Download it, print it, keep it beside your lab system, or use it as a reference while working through OSPF configurations and packet captures.
